Hi, I’m Nadine Slavitt, Therapist, Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and Former Attorney

And I am passionate about helping people grow through the challenges of their lives

Welcome, I’m so glad you are here

I know how bad it feels to be stuck and I want you to start feeling better. I truly believe that your work life, your home life, and your relationships can improve, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves as we get to work.

I help my clients develop strategies and skills for managing their most immediate challenges.

You may be under a great deal of stress, feeling overwhelmed by work responsibilities or conflict with the important people in your life.

You may have ideas about the life you want to live, work/life balance, or stepping into more fulfilling endeavors but you’re having difficulty setting goals, staying motivated, and juggling it all.

Perhaps you’re struggling with some deep feelings of anger, anxiety, or depression.

It takes courage to start to do things differently. And I also know that as you learn new skills and strategies to address the challenges you are facing, you will start to feel more empowered and more in control of your life.

On the practical level

In addition to using new skills, many of my clients want to dig deeper to gain insight and understanding of the causes of their struggles.

Past hurts and traumas can make you more emotionally sensitive and easily triggered. Addressing these experiences may be an important part of your healing process and can help you start to feel lighter, happier and healthier.

Whether you are engaged in coaching or therapy, I find that working on these two levels, - skill building and gaining insight and understanding - places my clients on a path toward greater success, health, and happier relationships

Digging deeper

A little bit about my background

I haven’t always been a coach and a therapist. In what feels like a lifetime ago (a story for another time), I began my career as a lawyer in a commercial law firm in Philadelphia.  After several years of practicing law, I realized that I was in the wrong field  – I wanted to work with people on a more personal level and help them grow.

I became a mediator in Dependency Court of Philadelphia working with families around issues of child abuse and neglect and, at the same time, I began coach training and became a Professional Certified Coach.  Since 2008, I have been a leadership coach with the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania, working with MBA and Executive MBA students as they develop leadership skills for their professional and personal lives.

As a life-long learner, and the mother of three children, I wanted to go deeper to better understand individual mental health and family dynamics.  I obtained my social work degree from the Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research and included psychotherapy into my work.

My Approach

I hold the Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I am certified in EMDR, and Level 1 trained in IFS.  Additional modalities that guide my practice are Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy, and Mindfulness.

I love working with individuals who find themselves at a crossroad, facing challenges, struggling but wanting a better life.  I know how hard these crossroads can be for each one of us internally and in our relationships.  Having traveled my own path, I am grateful to help guide others down their paths of growth and change toward a life of greater happiness, meaning, and fulfillment.
