Online Therapy/Virtual Therapy

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have been conducting all of my sessions on HIPAA-compliant video conferencing or over the telephone.

Some of the advantages to online therapy include:

  • Effective
  • Convenient
  • Private
  • Reduces travel time
  • Reduces time away from home and work

Requirements for Set Up

Find a private room so you will not be interrupted.

Place your camera (whether you are using a laptop, smart phone, or tablet) in a stable position so that you are not required to hold it and you can sit comfortably.

Turn off notifications and reminders from your device so that your full attention is on our session and you are not distracted.

Prior to our session, I will send you an email invitation that will include a link.  At the time of our session, simply click on the link and you will be brought into a virtual waiting room. I will then bring you into the session.

You many want to schedule some additional time after our session to reflect before re-engaging with work and family.

Some clients, who are unfamiliar with computers and online platforms, may take some time to adjust to online therapy and, depending on your internet connection, there may be occasional glitches with audio and video.

I am happy to work with any client who is adjusting to online therapy and together we can troubleshoot any problems along the way.
